About
It all started when…
..The Beatles came to America in 1964 followed by the British rock music invasion. Raised in a music conservatory in Havana Cuba, Dennis was exposed to the likes of Frank Sinatra, George Gershwin, Cole Porter and then transitioning to Elvis, Johnny Mathis, Buddy Holly etc. Not much else besides a classical environment until migrating to the US. From then on came the 60’s with The Beachboys, Woodstock, flower power and many more other musical influences that followed - to many to mention. The early 70's changed things quite a bit with multiple American groups starting out. Major influences besides The Beatles were Chicago, Steely Dan, Blood sweat & Tears, The Eagles and many others. Guitarist inspirations such as Jeff Beck, Carlos Santana, Jeff (skunk) Baxter and Denny Diaz of Steely Dan then of course the great Eddie Van Halen topped the list during those years.
The mid 70's ushered in the Disco era and Dennis joined George McCrae of "Rock Your Baby" fame with The Newborn Band for a couple of World tours which included performing alongside The Commodores, The Tramps, The Andrea True Connection and many more in the 1976-77 Disco conventions in NY City. Through the 80's as a member of the famed KC & The Sunshine Band, again touring worldwide including a Northeastern US tour with Kool & The Gang adding to the musical experiences of live performance in the big arena with the very first pioneer of the Disco era, KC himself.
Dennis has always believed to this day that self respect, compassion for others and love, as well as kindness and learning to live with one another can someday heal and help mend many of the worlds problems that we face today. These attributes can be heard in the music he writes, produces and performs himself.
“Love is kind, and Love is in your heart - it’s the Gift of the Divine for you and me”
